1 Description It occurs as a hard, white or faintly yellow, some what glossy crystalline solid, or white or yellowish-white powder.

(A) The retention time of the major peak for palmitic acid of the Sample solution corresponds to that of the Standard solution, as obtained in the Assay.
(B) Acid Value: 216-220.
3 Solubility It is soluble in alcohol, in ether, and in chloroform; practically insoluble in water.
4 Limit of Stearic Acid, Myristic Acid, and Other Related Fatty Acids Specified test.
5 Color Specified test.
6 Congealing temperature Between 60°–66°.
7 Iodine Value Not more than 1.
8 Mineral Acid This filtrate is not reddened by the addition of 1 drop of methyl orange.
9 Assay Not less than 98.0% and not more than 100.5% on the anhydrous basis.

PACKAGING

MOLACID® PAL is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside having bar-coded label and tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. Preserve in well-closed containers.
