Applications: MOLACID® GAA is a water-free, high-purity form of acetic acid used extensively in pharmaceutical manufacturing. It is used as a reaction solvent and processing medium during the synthesis of APIs and pharmaceutical intermediates. It is used in the manufacture of APIs, intermediates, oral liquids, topical preparations and other pharmaceutical formulations. As a chemical intermediate and reagent. MOLACID® GAA used to produce acetate salts, esters and other pharmaceutical compounds. It acts as a pH adjuster and acidifying agent to control the acidity of formulations and process solutions.

1 Description It occurs as clear, colorless liquid, having a pungent, characteristic odor and, when well diluted with water, an acid taste.

3 Solubility It is miscible with water, with alcohol and with glycerin.
4 Limit of Nonvolatile Residue The weight of the residue does not exceed 1.0 mg.
5 Chloride No opalescence is produced.
6 Sulfate No turbidity is produced.
7 Readily Oxidizable Substances The pink color is not changed to brown within 2 h.
8 Congealing Temperature Not less than 15.6°.
9 Iron Not more than 5 ppm.
10 Assay Not less than 99.5% and not more than 100.5%.

MOLACID® GAA is packed in HDPE drum or IBC packing having bar-coded label.
