1 Appearance It occurs as white to off-white or light brownish crystals/powder or lumps. It is hygroscopic.

(A) IR spectrum of the sample should be concomitant with IR spectrum of the benzene sulphonic acid standard in the range of 3800 cm1 – 650cm1.
3 Solubility It is soluble in water and alcohol.
4 Chlorides Not more than 0.05%.
5 Moisture (by KF) Not more than 2.0%.
6 Sulfated Ash at 600℃ for 1Hr Not more than 0.1%.
